Have any salad dressing jars?

It was a lazy week and no crafting... I did start the sand the dumpster chair outside but it was too hot!  Yesterday while cleaning up the kitchen I grabbed 2 Marie's Salad Dressing jars and lids that I had washed.  These two wound up in the bathroom for Q-Tips and Cotton balls.  The possibilities are endless...

• collect sand and shells from different beaches;
• store hard candy in; I usually have cough drops around so I am going to one for them for in the living room;
• if you have a beach kitchen, so many things could be in them, including: sugar, tea bags, coffee, coffee creamer, ice tea packets...
• in the bathroom: q-tips, cotton balls, band-aides, hair bands/scrunchies... just about anything in an ugly card board box...line them up on top of the medicine cabinet; besides looking pretty, you can see right away what's inside!

Anyway, here's how I did it:

In the kitchen, I primed the lids with Kiltz primer... and let them dry.  Then I took them outside and sprayed with Rustoleum sand textured paint:

Brought them back inside and played with shells to cover 'Marie's'.  I used E-6000 glue to glue the shells to the top.

I didn't think it was quite enough, although I was loving it.  So I got out my handy dandy rope...

Just wrapped it around and tied a knot.  I did add a drop of glue in the front and back and at the knot to keep it in place.

Added Q-Tips and cotton balls and wa la!

Left them there for the glue to dry but looking good on my map covered dresser!!  

And I was able to sleep better after getting crafty!!
