Tweaking my delivery from Ocean Styles...

I can't express how happy I am with my latest delivery from Ocean Styles!  I didn't even get to track the delivery and it was here!!  Talk about fast!!??!  I was so excited when the delivery came.  Everything was packed so carefully and nicely.  Holding my breathe as I unwrapped the lamps, just because they were glass, I was thrilled with each one being in perfect condition.  Everything was exactly as I expected.

I had just thrown a drop clothe over my couch as a slipcover and the pillows go really nicely.

You can find these and so many more here!
My NAUTILUS  lamp on....surrounded by love of the beach!

My Flip-Flop Trinket Dishes hold more shells.  You can find them here.
I think this STARFISH lamp looks so darn cute on this table!!

Just FYI: my shell drawer table

I think my Starfish lamp  (from Ocean Styles) is the perfect finishing touch to this little table!  I wanted to tell you how easy it was to do a presto-change up of this table I've had for years!

painting end table

Now this is before I was smarter and paid attention to what I was doing so I'll tell you my recommendations rather than what I think I did.
  1. Clean the entire table well and let dry;
  2. Give it a light sanding and wipe with damp cloth to get any sand dust.
  3. Prime and let dry;
  4. Paint; I used sand textured spray paint on the drawer after taping paper around so not to spray anything else but the drawer front.
  5. Paint the table; I used the same ACE Paint- Going My Way, as I used on the living room walls;
  6. I used the primer in spots and then sanded to distress;
  7. I gave it a few days to dry before I added shells to the drawer on top of the sand paint and topped it off with a LandShark beer bottle cap on top of the knob.  FINS UP!
  8. Last, you really should, at least, coat or seal the top!
Let it sit for a few days to really dry.

I used it for my printer before moving everything around.

perfect!!

ta-da!
I think I may have to just add some of my starfish here and it is complete!!

Sofa almost Up-dated!

ugly sofa.com

 As I told you here
that is just a big drop cloth throw cover (slipcover).  So I got a drop cloth that measured 12x15, from my new home away from home, Titusville ACE Hardware.  Let me just tell you, it is bigger and heavier than I imagined and even more clumsy to work with too!  I still have to pull the sofa out from the wall again and straighten it out.

I tried to do it around the dog but she wasn't cooperating. and 15 feet just seemed to go on and on.

Heidi got down and as soon as I started she was comfy again!

oye!!

It does look sloppy right now but it will do for today.  But I think it goes nicely with my new living room and the relaxed, kick off your flip flops attitude! I didn't wash it and I want to get it straightened out before I start ironing!  Heidi is back up on there where she belongs.  I think she likes it too.

Then UPS came!  Sorry no picture of the big brown truck but don't my new pillows look good on the sofa now?  I am really happy with my delivery from Ocean Styles!!

There will be more as I move lamps and tweak the sofa cover.  And still more tweaking!

My Ocean Style Ideas...

I'm going over my list and ideas of things I still want to do around here and looking at Ocean Styles - and things that would give me the look I want... inside and outside.  I originally thought I was just going to do my bed room but it has expanded.  And I am happy about that.  I don't know if you remember this lamp:
 But this one (above) makes a great nightlight as well as a lamp and I think the shell lamps will go so much better together in the living room.

These lamps will look great in the living room.
I think the "How to be a Beach Woman"  is important.  I'm going to frame it and put it in a prominent spot.  Besides that I AM Thankful, I like the reminders and will try to follow them as well as do them!

The bottle caps might also work on the fishing net window and/or hanging from the palm tree outside.  The float lights  would be good for my directional pole and the shell lights in the palm tree's pot with real shells.

The hard part is narrowing down the list of signs!!  I want a metal/tin one for my back door.  Probably, the flip flop zone one.
(here)

Well, obviously, I've been lost on here and nothing is in stone till I place the order, so I'll give you a break and go back to organizing so I can tear apart the bedroom soon.

Enjoy your day!

Searching for my Ocean Style

 I've been looking through Ocean Styles dot com and Pinterest and even my closet.  I came across a quilt I love that I rarely used.  I put it away in hopes one day I would get around to doing my bedroom and it would look like it belonged.  I completely forgot about it.  I bought it before moving to Florida, choosing to do my bed room tropical.

I drooled over lamps, window murals, bedding, throws and toss pillows and just played to get it together.  I only have one window in the bedroom with an air conditioner in it 99% of the time.  So what I was thinking was to use this Tropical Window mural,  one on each side of the bed.

 I love these lamps but wondering it they are too beachy for the tropical window... maybe I'll have to make my own window... or swap out with my living room lamps.

Living Room lamps - could use bamboo around the baseand use in bed room.

the lamps are here

use these in the living room

When I looked at tropical bedrooms, I decided my furniture could stay as it is, although I have to come up with an idea for my thrift night table.

very pale yellow but love the bamboo handles

4 pink tab top panels
 Although you see peach/coral shades, the pink light-weight tab top panels pull the pink from some flowers and/or centers.  I was thinking of the whole wall of curtain hung from bamboo poles.  I am leaning towards coral painted walls.

I originally thought of the dune fence over my bed as a headboard look, but going tropical, I'm going to use bamboo privacy screening instead:

My ceilings are only 7 feet high and this is 6 feet high, so I'm thinking of painting the ceiling and a foot down a sky color.

My must haves from Ocean Style are:
  1. Glass Float String Lights (here)
  2. Sealites Seashell String Lights (here)
  3. Advice from the Ocean (here) and Sun Pillows
  4. 10 Beach Bottle Cap Ornaments (here) not just for Christmas!
  5. How to Be a Beach Woman Poster (here) to frame.
and definitely:
  1. The Starfish Lamp (here)
  2. and the Nautilus Lamp (here)

Oh the decisions are crazy!  But in order to get the looks that I want, I can shop my house and still shop better choices from Ocean Styles, pulling everything together.

I'll post my Idea Boards when I get the pictures together... meanwhile, think ocean breezes.
